Izél qualified as a chartered accountant in 1995 after having served her articles at KPMG. Izél has been involved in corporate tax consulting since 1995 when she joined Arthur Andersen as a senior tax consultant. She completed her Masters degree in tax in 1998. She worked in the tax division of Arthur Andersen until 2000, when she joined Deloitte as a senior manager. Izél was with Deloitte for 15 years, the last 5 as a partner. During her last four years with Deloitte she headed up the tax division in Pretoria and was the tax industry leader for Life Science, Health Care and later also Consumer Business. Izél is also a seasoned radio and television speaker having represented Deloitte in this capacity on numerous occasions over the years.

Over her tax career of 20 year at two of the big four accounting firms Izél gained extensive experience in all aspects of corporate tax in a variety of industries. She served large multinational clients such as MTN, Nissan, Lafarge, Jannsen as well as listed entities such as Mustek, EQstra, Life Health Care, Clover and state owned enterprises such as SAPO and Denel.

Izél resigned a Deloitte partner in 2015 in order to achieve a better work/life balance and spend more time with her two young children. She remains passionate about tax and helping clients navigate the complex landscape of tax planning and compliance.
